Student Assistance Program

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) offered at Northbridge School is a free service, provided by NHS Human Services, which identifies and addresses issues that may be a barrier to student's learning and school success. SAP services include psycho-educational support in the form of individual and group counseling provided during the school day.

Teenagers are in the process of developing their own identity and becoming more independent as they struggle with the transition from childhood to adulthood. It is not uncommon for many students to undergo a variety of stressors that may impede the learning process. These issues may include, but are not limited to, such concerns as:

    - Behavior Management

    - Family Issues

    - Grief and Loss

    - Self Esteem

    - Conflict Resolution

    - Peer Relationships

In order to assist your student in coping with the stressors that may be inhibiting his/her success at school we will be offering individual and group support, free of charge, during the school day. Sessions are planned on a varibale schedule in order to minimize loss of class time and students are responsible for making up any missed work due to attendance at SAP sessions.

Written parental permission is required in order to particpate in SAP services. Permission slips are available at the school. If you have questions or concerns I can be reached on Tuesday at the school, (215)412-4009. Questions may also be directed to Dorothy Grant, Program Manager, NHS Human Serivces at (215)716-9010.
